This is an appropriate time to go off on a bit of a tangent. I had a client come to me after selling his share of a tech startup that turned his $100,000 investment into $5 million. He then spoke of "turning this $5 million in $50 million." I told him, "Ben - this is your first windfall. Try to keep the $5 million. It's a nice amount of money. Seek opportunities patiently and conduct your due diligence; I'm sure the path to further wealth will come, but not if you force it." I offer you the same advice. The OZ program is already really, really good. Find a nice investment opportunity that would work well even if the tax benefits weren't there, then execute. The growth and value will follow, and you will be quite well off with the results.

It all depends on the project(s) the QOF invests on and their rate of return.
