Donna L. Mackenzie is a certified public accountant. She is the co-founder and CEO of Bright Impact, a Florida-based investment and management service provider that focuses on the Opportunity Zone tax incentive.
Bright Impact advises investors, fund managers and communities on the planning, establishment, operation and reporting of Qualified Opportunity Funds. The team also assists clients in investor training, relationship management and shareholder communication. With technology-driven methods, Bright Impact is developing a digital tool for users to access the impacts of Opportunity Zone investments.
Mackenzie has extensive experience in guiding entrepreneurs and startup owners to realize their business ideas and attract investments. She has successfully helped raise more than $90 million in angel investment, venture capital investment and other early growth investments. With a deep background in finance, business operation, sales and customer relationship management, Mackenzie currently also serves as the chief operation financial officer at Orlando Opportunity Fund.
Mackenzie has held executive and management roles at multiple companies, including GroupLM3, a management consulting company; IZEA, an online platform that facilitates influencer marketing and user content creation; Channel Intelligence, Inc., a digital marketplace.
Mackenzie obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
