Ed Mofrad is a certified public accountant. He is president and founder of Mofrad Financial Solutions, a Los Angeles-based firm specializing in taxation advisory, planning, resolution, preparation, filing-bookkeeping, payroll and other financial services.
Mofrad, a certified valuation analyst with more than 23 years of experience, also handles wealth management and business valuation, such as mergers and acquisitions, sales and divestitures, and buy/sell agreements that are primarily in information technology and the healthcare industry. His client base includes estates and trusts, entrepreneurs, exempt organizations, real estate agents, registered domestic partners, EB-5 filers and expatriates (including handling reports of foreign bank and financial accounts and Office of Foreign Assets Control accounts).
Prior to starting his own company in 1996, Mofrad was an Internal Revenue Service agent. Before that, he was an auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency, a division of the U.S. Department of Defense. Mofrad’s private industry experience includes working as a senior consultant with Ernst & Young’s Bangkok office and as a security analyst with Sun Hung Kai, also in Bangkok.
Mofrad has also been an adjunct instructor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and taught at Bangkok University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy and an MBA with a concentration in finance from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
